Disappointed. That's all I really can say. I picked it up because I needed a book to fulfill a few Beyond the Bookends challenge prompts, and this one fit the bill. I needed a book that was being adapted to screen and was a 2024 New Release. And I love some Henry Cavill acting.

I haven't watched the movie, but from what I've read, it is quite a loose adaptation and critics didn't care much for it.

I couldn't make heads or tails of the characters, the writing and there was little intrigue to grab me. I was determined to get through it and as I didn't care much for Richards' narration, I suffered.

If you wanna read it, go for it. I'm not stopping you, but I feel the hype was more than it was actually worth. Yawn.
